Role synopsisKey accountabilities
Know and apply the HSSE policy and lead direct reports in developing a culture of safety and supporting the processes that govern safe behavior.
Ensure that all invoice payments occur after proper due diligence and minimize the risk to the organization of inappropriate disbursements of funds
Act as Control Evaluation Template owner and ensure the alignment of the documented process with current activities. Conduct annual reviews to test the evolution of the process and the continuing focus on maintaining a strong control environment, while at the same time adding value to the business and driving efficiency.
Manage partner, statutory and group audits and internal control reviews, and ensure remediation of open items. Manage and remediate all control gaps/deficiencies and ensure all process changes are controlled via a rigorous Management of Change process
The Team Lead will be considered a subject matter expert and will be expected to provide advice on existing and emerging issues on P2P to the business
Setting the Performance contract and ensuring all the team members are aligned to deliver. Coaching and motivating team members for exceptional delivery. Resourcing and allocating staff members and ensuring opportunities for future development
Essential Education
Professional Accounting qualification(ACCA) or a Bachelor degree from an accredited University, preferably in area of Accounting/Finance/Business
Essential experience and job requirements
7 years professional accounting work experience, preferrably in the oil & gas industry in the exploration and production segment.
Understanding of how the BP organization works, and the range of contacts that need to be made to obtain actual and forecast inputs and to validate assumptions.
Well developed and proven skills in financial analysis, reporting, communication, networking, and teamwork.
Knowledge of BP Group Inter company reporting requirements, processes, and time tables.
Knowledge of BP accounting and financial reporting policies, procedures, and systems
Strong technical skills including good understanding of IFRS, GRM
Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft applications
Desirable criteria & qualifications
Strong Financial experience with track record of delivery.
Proven analytical thinking with an ability to quickly translate data into financial terms and the capacity to solve complex problems
Ability to present ideas and represent them powerfully.
Ability to work to tight deadlines.
Has the passion and courage to challenge positively, to make tough calls and to engage in real debate
Ability to build a strong cohesive team and motivate individuals to deliver exceptional performance
