Located: Trinidad & Tobago

The successful candidates must be able to:

Organize and deliver specific programs/courses offered by UTT.
Prepare course materials and deliver lectures as directed by the Programme Leader.
Act as Class Tutor and provide effective counselling services to students on academic, non-academic and welfare matters as required.
Work as a member of one or more course teams and to take responsibility for the administration and management of specific courses or subject areas within the Diploma programme.
Participate in arrangements for the conduct of examinations, including writing and marking of examination scripts and invigilation duties as required.
Maintain class registers and student achievement records in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Management System of the Chaguaramas Campus.
Develop professional STCW short courses as directed by the Programme Leader.
Undertake professional development to update specialist subject knowledge.
Undertake additional responsibilities as required of the Programme Leader.
Provide service to the University and/or community/society

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Essential

A current STCW 1995 Management Level Certificate of Competency.
A First Degree or an MSc will be preferred.
Recent sea going experience with on-board training.
Experience in the capacity of Chief Officer or Master.
Knowledge of current MCA/STCW regulatory training requirements.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Preferred

Previous maritime training experience.
Bridge / Engine simulation experience.
Tanker/LNG/LPG vessel operations experience.
