Role: Reporting to the Senior Pharmacist, this Officer is responsible for ensuring that the Dispensary at the Police Hospital is adequately stocked.

Work involves the ordering of pharmaceutical supplies and maintaining an inventory of all supplies received and issued.

Assignments are received by oral and written instruction from a Senior Pharmacist, who through discussions, inspections and general observation reviews work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares requisitions for drugs and medical supplies and assists in keeping appropriate records of receipts an issues;
• Writes labels on bottles and packages; records prescription:
• Maintains an inventory of all supplies received and issued;
• Orders, Issues and maintains an adequate supply of pharmaceutical supplies and other goods
• Issues non-prescription drugs;
• Performs related work as required.

Qualifications!Experience/Skills

• Training as evidenced by a CXC Certificate with five (5) O` Level passes including English, Mathematics and a Science Subject
• General working knowledge of procurement practices.
• Ability to maintain inventories. other records and to collate information for preparation of reports/assignment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, other employees and the public.  

Salary and Terms and Conditions of Employment are to be negotiated with the Chief Personnel Officer.
