The Organisation
Our assets in Trinidad and Tobago are vitally important to BG Group, with gas being supplied to the domestic market and fed into Atlantic LNG for export, primarily to North America. We supply gas to three of four LNG trains at Atlantic LNG in which we are also a shareholder. This represents fully integrated projects involving production and liquefaction, shipping and re-gasification for onward sale into the US market. Our current exploration focus is the phased development of the North Coast Marine Area.
Position Summary
The Lead Mechanical Engineer is part of the BG T&T Maintenance team and is accountable for providing leadership, direction and to deliver against maintenance activities on our operated assets with specific reference to cranes, lifeboats and liferafts, and fabric maintenance. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager; peers include staff in the Maintenance team, Engineering team, Contracts and Procurement team and Projects team. The position holder is expected to be an effective liaison between the maintenance management team, operations personnel, contractual resources and internal and external project groups.
Key Accountabilities
Have an overriding priority towards safety and the environment with a proactive approach to drive HSSE compliance in all maintenance activities.

To apply standard engineering principles, concepts, codes, and techniques in providing solutions and technical advice to a variety of plant and equipment maintenance problems and standard maintenance operating procedures.specifically to cranes, lifeboats and liferafts and fabric maintenance

Design and implement standard maintenance operating procedures according to equipment system design and intent, according to OEM recommendations and best engineering practices.

Responsible for the progress and completion of all maintenance activities related to the facilities, with due consideration of equipment criticality, Work Management processes, manpower, equipment and spare parts required to perform all maintenance works.

Ensures that the planning and scheduling of the maintenance works is observed and that a good distribution of the works, workflows and responsibilities is applied, with due consideration to the equipment criticality

Is the maintenance authority for technical issues to carry out the maintenance works on cranes and all lifting devices, lifeboats,liferafts and frogs and all works related to fabric maintenance.
