Role synopsis
• Support site leader to coordinate and facilitate integrated delivery of site HSSE performance agenda
• Provide specialist HSSE Technical support and to identify and support mitigation of HSSE Operations Risks including compliance with applicable BP, and regulatory and statutory requirements
• Ensure HSSE contractor management process is aligned to Regional Performance Unit strategy
• Facilitate and support implementation of HSSE Standards and programmes at the facilities/ installations
• Support and facilitate specialist HSSE Function programme implementation within the facility/ installation

Key accountabilities
 Facilitate, through seamless integration and engagement, the implementation of Operating Managing System (OMS), BP HSSE Standards and Practices within the Operations.
 Provide strong & clear focused support to the facility/ installation ensuring HSSE related risks are understood, assessed & reduced.
 Facilitate facility/ installation HSSE actions are effectively closed on time.
 Conduct site HSSE surveys, work in progress type audits and advising H&S Team Leader on recommendations to ensure continuous improvement in the HSSE program.
 Assist the AOM with the accurate compilation, reporting and action tracking of all HSSE performance leading and lagging indicators within their assigned field.
 Coach personnel on strategic HSSE objectives and compliance with applicable OMS, HSSE policies, standards, practices and regulations.
 Influence and reinforce positive HSSE behaviors for all employees and contractors on site.
 Ensure all incidents are reported and followed up with OIM/OSM and HSSE Leadership.
 Interpret and implement the Crisis Management & Emergency Response (CMER) plan and providing support for carrying out emergency exercises. Provide HSSE expertise for on-site emergency management.
 Participate and facilitate incident / accident investigations using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and monitoring implementation of corrective actions.
 Assist in the conduct of Risk Assessments, JHAs and work site audits at the facilities/ installations.
 Assist and participate in delivering programs towards engendering a risk intolerant culture on all sites.
 Maintain an effective working relationship with specialist HSSE teams for strategic alignment and operations delivery.
 Provide assurance of HSSE compliance and effectively communicating exposures to leadership teams.
 Communicate and engage the workforce on the expectations of the Driving Safety Standard.
 Conduct routine HSSE assessments to ensure adherence to route HSSE standards.
 Continually demonstrate the highest standards of HSSE leadership by being an agent for change and a model of HSSE behaviors

Essential Education
 Bachelors Degree in any Engineering, Natural Sciences or suitable combination of relevant experience and training as evidence by work in the oil and gas industry.

Essential experience and job requirements
 Should have 5-8 years industry experience in HSSE
