Role: This Officer is responsible for the operations of a Dispensary at the Police Hospital.
Work involves a variety of duties including supervision of lower level staff, and e performance of general dispensing duties.
Work is performed indeijdently in accordance with professional standards and is subject to review by a superior officer for quality and adequacy of service.
Key Duties and Resgcnsibilities
- Compounds prescriptions; prepare injection solutions, lotions, ointment and other medications;
- Supervises the dispensing services at the Police Hospital.
- Makes periodic checks to ensure that inventories are maintained.
Supervises the non-medical functions of the hospital such as ordering of drugs and medical supplies; - Supervises a lower level professional and non-professional staff;
- Maintains records and documents for the inspection of Controlled Drugs;
- Performs related work as required.
Qualifications/Experience! Skills
- Considerable experience in the field of pharmaceutics at a Senior Level;
- Possession of a Pharmacist License recognized by the Pharmacy Board of Trinidad and Tobago.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques in the field of pharmaceutlcs..
- Knowledge of the Government's Financial Regulations;
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Board Ordinance and related Ordinances.
- Ability to prepare and dispense drugs and other pharmaceutical products.
- Ability to maintain records of controlled drugs and prepare reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, other employees and the public.
Salary and Terms and Conditions of Employment are to be negotiated with the Chief Personnel Officer.
