Industrial Plant Services Limited (IPSL) is a privately owned) independent operating company which provides a range of plant management services to its clients: Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited, Caribbean Nitrogen Company Limited (CNC) and Nitrogen 2000 Unlimited (N2000).
IPSL is an expanding organization which currently operates and manages seven (7) process plants including M5000, the world's largest methanol plant.
Our newest project is the Ammonia Urea Melamine (AUM) Complex which will consist of seven (7) plants located at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate.
We are currently seeking qualified nationals of Trinidad and Tobago to meet the requirements of these three (3) Complexes: Methanol, Ammonia and AUM.
Maintenance Technician - Electrical and INstrumentation
The Maintenance Technician - Electrical and Instrumentation will perform technical and practical maintenance duties on all electrical and instrumentation plant equipment and associated facilities in accordance with sound engineering standards and safe work practices.
The incumbent will assist in troubleshooting problems.
Responsibilities also include:
1. Executing equipment maintenance programs for plant systems and equipment - electrical and instrumentation in accordance with established maintenance procedures, practices, standards and codes.
2. Carrying out routine and non-routine equipment inspection in accordance with approved checklists and maintenance schedules using the appropriate test equipment and techniques.
3. Assisting in the planning and scheduling of maintenance jobs for the efficient execution of field maintenance work.
4. Troubleshooting problems that may affect plant equipment efficiency, quality of product or plant equipment life and recommend solutions.
5. Upon instruction, performing field maintenance and repair work to equipment in accordance with proper standards, codes and set schedule.
6. Reporting any equipment defects and abnormal conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
7. Assisting in the preparation of maintenance schedules.
8. Providing technical supervision to contractor personnel in the execution of field maintenance work.
9. Ensuring the optimal utilization of all available resources, in-house and contractors in the execution of maintenance works on the plant.
10. Recording equipment information electronically and manually to ensure an efficient and reliable source of historical and analytical data.
11. Updating work order management system for routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
12. Assisting in the preparation of job plans for turnaround and shutdowns.
13. Providing technical support to plant personnel and contractors under his/her Supervision during abnormal situations.
14. Executing turnaround jobs in accordance with the schedule.
15. Supervising the execution of turnarounds jobs to ensure that general HSE, Quality and production targets are met.
16. Ensuring that excellent standards of housekeeping are observed on the plant
Qualifications and experience
Candidates must possess five (5) subjects at the Ordinary Level inclusive of Mathematics, English and Chemistry and an Associate Degree in Applied Science Degree in Electrical Technology (COSTAATT) or Technician Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a minimum of three (3) years experience in a process plant environment.
Candidate Profile
Candidates must have the ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, logic circuits and control diagrams including ladder logic. In-depth knowledge of maintenance plant equipment and performance history, maintenance analyses and techniques is also required.
A working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office is necessary. The candidate should also possess strong analytical and problem solving competencies with proven competence in the testing, calibration and repair of electrical, pneumatic, electromechanical measuring, recording and indicating equipment fro conformance to established standards.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also necessary.
