Maintenance Engineer Company: Industrial Plant Services Limited Deadline: Monday, November 23, 2009 The Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical will be responsible for providing technical knowledge and supervisory support with respect to planning, maintenance, troubleshooting, project and installation work on all plant mechanical systems and associated facilities. This includes the implementation of routine preventive and maintenance programmes on rotating and stationary equipment and systems. Responsibilities also include: 1. Executing Maintenance engineering activities to ensure that the reliability and availability of plant systems and equipment. 2. Reviewing plant equipment operating parameters and initiating technical discussions/research to ensure optimal operability. 3. Providing engineering solutions to routine plant maintenance problems. 4. Troubleshooting and performing diagnostic inspections on plant equipment. 5. Providing engineering solutions for plant modifications and projects. 6. Responsible for maintenance planning of both routine works and plant outages including preparation of daily work schedules, manpower and material requirement and costs estimates. 7. Ensuring the efficient use of all available resources, in-house and contractors in the execution of maintenance works on the plant. 8. Managing the work order management system including backlog and cost reporting for routine works, outages and Turnarounds. 9. Engaging in routine contract administration and management, preparation of contractor usage plan, scope of work definitions, tendering evaluation and analysis, procurement, execution and close-off. 10. Ensures that equipment history records are updated in terms of equipment downtime, cause codes, priority codes, man hours and materials utilized and costs incurred. 11. Monitoring the use of the work order management system for routine and non-routine maintenance activities. 12. Participating in Plant trip assessment teams for the determination of root cause and providing recommendations. 13. Reviewing the stock of critical spares and inventory of materials, tools etc. in relation to maintenance works scheduled and projected. 14. Supervising turnaround jobs in accordance with the schedule and budget. 15. Monitors execution of turnarounds jobs to ensure that general HSE, Quality and production targets are met. 16. Preparing Department monthly reports and special reports as requested.
Qualifications and experience Candidates must possess BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years experience in a process plant environment.
Candidates must be proficient in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Demonstrated knowledge in troubleshooting and project management is required as well as the ability to apply fundamental engineering concepts, theories and practices to resolve operational issues. The candidate should also possess strong analytical, report writing, interpersonal and communication skills are necessary. An attractive compensation package commensurate with experience and qualifications will be offered.
