Due to significant growth, we are looking for a relationship-driven and detail-oriented Business Development Manager of Data Platforms to oversee, strengthen, and expand data platform relationships.

 

About the role

The primary focus of the Business Development Manager of Data Platforms is to assist the company's data team by working with established distribution partnerships with large market data companies such as FactSet, emerging alternative data platforms such as Eagle Alpha, as well as identifying and establishing new platform relationships.

 

This is a unique role that does not fit neatly into a single box. It's a multi-faceted position that blends business development, sales, marketing, strategy, product development, project management, research, and communications. This role will work closely with the entire data team to more clearly define and execute both short and long-term revenue goals centered around data platforms and channel sales.

In addition to the primary focus areas listed above, the most successful candidates applying for this position would also have an interest in data, quantitative analysis, capital markets, the labor market, economics, and research.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Partner Relations - Develop relationships with leaders and stakeholders to ensure LinkUp is positioned well and that the partner sees a successful business opportunity in front of them
  • Partner Enablement - Train the partner's sales and technical teams pre- and post-sales and provide ongoing support
  • Strategy and Insights - Analyze market and company data alongside partner strategies to define opportunities, audiences, objectives, use cases, and priorities
  • Process and workflow - Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to assist partners and partner clients with process, documentation, and data contracts
  • Revenue and growth - Drive forward new business and work with internal sales team to assure maximization of revenue from buy-side firms and end users

Qualifications

 

 

  • B.A. or B.S undergraduate degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development or partner relations in various roles of increasing responsibility (B2B channel management experiences preferred)
  • Experience working at or with technology companies, domain expertise in big data technologies strongly desired
  • Very strong written and communications skills. Must be able to communicate the value proposition of new and existing products/solutions, able to create original content, edit existing content
  • Player-coach required - Must be enthusiastic about developing the plan, but also doing the work
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to hit the ground running and drive impact
  • Very analytical, able to juggle many projects with small staff
  • Understands the value of winning together - team attitude
  • Up to 20% travel should be expected.
  • This position is based in the United States - Minneapolis or New York preferred
