Role: Reporting to the Senior Pharmacist, this officer is responsible for compounding, dispensing drugs and other pharmaceutical products at the Police Hospital. Work may involve the issuing of prescriptive and
non-prescriptive supplies.

Assignments are received ir the form of written and oral instructions from the Senior Pharmacist. Work is reviewed through discussions, inspections and general observations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Dispenses prescriptive and non-prescriptive supplies;
• Ensures the maintenance of an adequate supply of pharmaceutical and other supplies;
• Assists with supervision of the ordering of drugs, medical and other pharmaceutical supplies;
• Inspects all incoming and outgoing bulk supplies at the Police hospital and reports errors and omissions;
• Performs related work as required.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills

• Training as evidenced by the successful completion of a recognized course of training as prescribed by the Pharmacy Board, or any equivalent training.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical field;
• General knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques in the field of pharmaceutics;
• Knowledge of the Pharmacy Board Ordinance and related Ordinances.
• General knowledge of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Ability to dispense drugs and pharmaceutical products.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, other employees and the public.

Salary and Terms and Conditions of Employment are to be negotiated with the Chief Personnel Officer.
